Jennifer Bleick

Flutist

Jennifer Bleick's passion for a wide range of musical styles has resulted in collaborations with a diverse group of artists. As a member of the Mostly Modern Chamber Music Society in Cleveland, she performed familiar and neglected works by 20th century composers as well as premiered newly written works. Last fall, she organized and participated in a performance of Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf at The Hospice of the Western Reserve with members of the Cleveland Orchestra.

Jennifer is currently a member of the Ann Arbor-based Phoenix Ensemble, a collection of musicians dedicated to performing eclectic musical styles. She is actively involved with the ensemble's Oblivion Project--an exploration of Astor Piazzolla's nuevo tango . In addition, she will be featured in Phoenix's upcoming celebration of the music of pianist/composer Dave Brubeck.

Jennifer earned a BM from the Cleveland Institute of Music where, as a student of Joshua Smith, she was also a concerto competition winner. She has toured with the Wild Ginger Philharmonic and has appeared as a soloist on Minnesota Public Radio. Jennifer recently moved from Cleveland to the New York area.
